Hello and welcome to my world of mathematics! During my career, I have taught remedial and on-level math courses, honors math courses, and AP math courses, all of which give me a unique ability to meet you at whatever level is needed to maximize your learing experience. My philosophy has always been that math is best learned by modeling first, doing guided practice next, and then completing independent practice with constant and immediate feedback. My goal is to assist you in developing a confidence in doing math, as well as in developing critical thinking skills that you will be able to apply to any situation. Your success is my succes and my mantra has always been "Just try; embrace your mistakes and we will use them as an opportunity for growth and learning." You will find me to be an extremely patient individual, focused on your needs and your learning style. I look forward to spending time with you and sharing my love for mathematics!
Teacher Specialization
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. I have taught all of the following courses: Remedial Algebra, Geometry, Geometry Honors, Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors, Precalculus, Precalculus Honors, College Algebra, Probability and Statistics Honors, AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB, as well as SAT and ACT test prep. I have been teaching AP since 2004, with the requirement that all of my studnets take their respective AP exam in May. The overall pass rate for my students on the AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics exams has been anywhere from 70% to 100%, with an average of 85% per year passing the exam. I usually had between 40 to 60 students per year taking the Calculus AB and/or Statistics exam. In addition, I have been part of the College Board reading team that scores that AP Calculus exams since 2009; serving as part of the leadership team for the past five years. I was named "Teacher of the Year" six times.
