Bio

I have over 30 years of dedicated service in elementary education, and I bring a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to every classroom. I have taught across all grades K–5, with a strong foundation in literacy instruction and student-centered learning. My expertise spans diverse roles, including Reading Interventionist, tutor, and specialist for English Language Learners and gifted students. I believe all students can learn with the proper support and encouragement. As a tutor, I aim to provide individualized instruction that engages students in their learning and increases their confidence. I enjoy getting to know my students on a person level by asking about their interest, hobbies, and other special facts. I feel that this helps to establish a relationship with my students.

Teacher Specialization

I have 30 years of experience in education. I have taught grades Kindergarten- 5th grade. Throughout my career, I have championed differentiated instruction, literacy development, and inclusive practices, ensuring that every student—regardless of background or ability—has the opportunity to grow and succeed. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I have completed the Science of Reading Training. Additionally, I held Gifted and ESL endorsements in previous states that I taught. I have 5 years of virtual teaching experience as a tutor and a teacher. As a teacher leader, I have mentored colleagues, led school-wide initiatives, facilitated professional development, and contributed to curriculum planning that supports both academic excellence and whole-child development.
