Bio

I believe that all students can learn. My approach as a teacher and tutor is to make learning relevant. As a math interventionist, I worked with small groups of students who were struggling in math. I am committed to helping my students achieve success in class. Your goal might be to improve grades or you might need help with specific skills. Whatever your goal, I am here to help. As a middle and high school math teacher, I created an environment where students knew I cared about them as people. My classroom was a safe place where they could learn without judgment or ridicule. My tutoring philosophy is the same. As a mom of four, two of whom had IEPs, I understand what it means to advocate for my children. I am an advocate for my students as well. Over the years, I have taught in the classroom and online. As a lifelong learner, I have run several businesses. I was a cake decorator and a professional horse hauler! I think it is important to never limit learning new things.

Teacher Specialization

I earned my degree in middle grades education with concentrations in mathematics and ELA from Campbell University. I have taught middle grades math and ELA and high school mathematics. My most recent online position was as a math interventionist for an online charter middle school. I have been a face to face and online tutor for many years. My certifications include Google Level 2 Educator, Kami Certified, EdPuzzle Coach, Nearpod Distance Learning Expert, and Flipgrid Certified.
