Bio
Hello my name is Ryan and I have been a teacher for about 20 years. I think that students learn best when teaching is tailored to their individual needs, learning styles, and strengths. Using a variety of strategies and approaches to ensure understanding. Evaluation should be supportive and growth oriented. I hope to create an environment built on fostering respect, empathy, and belonging, where every student feels valued and heard. By celebrating diversity, adapting to individual needs, and encouraging collaboration. I aim to help students in a variety of subjects and build productive professional relationships.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelors degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in physical education. I started off my teaching career as a substitute teacher for K-12 while working on my multiple subject Credential through Fresno State. I began as a full time teacher as an elementary PE teacher and did that for 12 years. I have also taught in kindergarten, 3rd, 5th, and 6th graders. Along with teaching I have coached at the High School level for girls and boys tennis. I love the outdoors and learning new skills. I had to do online teaching through COVID, which was a learning experience. I quickly learned how to utilize more tools that were beneficial for teaching online. I have tutored in person in the past for Reading and Math. I can help students improve in their understanding and feel more confident in their problem solving abilities.
