Bio

I am a multi licensed educator with 15+ years of experience working with students ages 4-12. I have passion for training up the next generation of learners to become successful adults. I began my teaching career as a preschool teacher. I was the lead teacher in a 4-5year old program. From there I worked in public schools, including a number of the largest school districts in my state, to a number of small districts as well. I have taught in urban, suburban, and rural areas. As my own family grew, I chose to take a step away from formally teaching and focus on teaching within my own home. Here I have taught my own children for the past 5 years. I continue to work with youth through volunteer programs, church events, and other community programs. I am excited to be your child's tutor because I firmly believe that every child can learn if given the correct opportunities to learn, that meet their individual learning styles, and with the flexibility to learn at their pace.

Teacher Specialization

I have an undergraduate degree in the area of Elementary Education, and a Graduate degree in Special Education with a focus on Specific Learning Disabilities. I have taught in elementary schools for 6 years, including grades first, third, and fourth grade. I have taught as a special education teacher at the elementary level for 4 years. Prior to beginning my teaching career I was a preschool teacher for 2 years. Since leaving my formal teaching job, I have homeschooled my own children.
