Bio

My name is Shawn Miller. I have been in education for over twenty years. Each student learns differently, and that is what makes teaching so rewarding. I work with my students to plan and set goals, as well as to track their progress and identify areas that require more focus. I want my students to gain confidence and understanding when working with me. It is my hope that they leave our sessions ready to tackle the next lesson. I see every student as someone who has the potential to find success. I strive to encourage and celebrate the positive things with every student I serve. I have taught in 3 different states and overseas as well. I got into tutoring because I watched many of my students struggling and wanted to be a source of support and encouragement for them and other students who needed it.

Teacher Specialization

As a 20-plus-year educator, with experience in virtual teaching of just under 5 years, I teach with compassion and patience. I believe that every student is capable and can find success. My educational background and degrees are in Elementary Education and curriculum. I have taught all grade levels and subjects except for upper-level high school math. I have also been an administrator. This gives me a unique understanding of how a student learns and the best way to approach each session with them. I enjoy working with students from all walks of life, including neurodivergent learners. I am certified in K-8 in all subjects.
