Bio
My name is Suzanne Hervig, and I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I love to travel, read, and cook. I became a tutor because I have the seen the growth and joy of learning reignited through tutoring. Watching a student get the look of understanding on their face is why I do this. Breaking learning down into smaller more manageable pieces is the key to helping students who need extra support. When a student can teach me what they've learned or show me what they've learned using their own interpretation, then I know they've mastered the concept. When students believe they can learn, they will grow both academically and personally. As a tutor, my goal is to facilitate a growth mindset in order for a student to realize learning is limitless. Education is the gateway to a meaningful and fulfilled life offering possibilities not thought of before. I believe in lifelong learning, and I'm so excited to be a part of the journey.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in English Language Arts for 5 - 12th graders. I also work with elementary students in reading, writing, and comprehension. My virtual teaching experience includes 9-12 English Language Arts and College Writing 101 - 103. I've also taught speech virtually. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and a master's degree in English. Teaching 25 years.
