Bio

I love seeing students grow! It brings me such joy to see students' faces light up when they get it! I'm passionate about helping students grow and progress. I love identifying what needs to be worked on and planning the steps to reach our goal. Getting to know my students is crucial, so we can form a good relationship and I can learn things about them that I can bring into the lesson. I enjoy keeping student engagement high by teaching lessons that are interactive, student-centered, integrate student's personal interests, and put the cognitive effort on the students. Together we can reach those goals and make it happen!

Teacher Specialization

My favorite students to teach are elementary students! I have a degree in Elementary Education and I taught 1st grade for four years. During this time, I provided full classroom instruction in reading, math, social studies, and science. I have virtually tutored students in the K-5 range in reading, math, science, and social studies for two years. While I really love it all, my personal favorite is teaching young students how to read. I'm trained in Science of Reading, so I have knowledge and experience in implementing new research on teaching kids how to read. I taught Tier 3 reading and math intervention groups to catch students back up to grade level. I have experience working with students that have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and giftedness. I also have an EL endorsement, so if your student is multilingual and knows more than one language, we will be a great fit! I would love to work with you to help your student reach their goals!
