My educational philosophy aligns with the idea that students learn differently, and I aim to adjust my teaching to help meet the needs of diverse learners. I align with the idea of having a growth mindset. Just like plants need sunshine and water to thrive and grow, students may need a combination of both effort and academic support to help them grow academically. It seems relationships are like a tree root in education. My name is Tabitha and I love teaching and learning. I would like to support your student, and have fun in the process, while further expanding my virtual education career.
Teacher Specialization
I have been employed for about 4.5 months so far through a third party, working for an education company as a high impact virtual reading tutor. As I expand into working as a tutor for K12, I would like to bring skills I have already acquired to make lasting relationships with students and families. Additionally, I have worked in the brick-and-mortar environment as a substitute teacher, an intern and a math and science teacher, as well as a tutor. I hold a BA in Elementary Education from Belmont Abbey College and am currently licensed to teach in North Carolina and South Carolina. I have about 3 years in education. I have registered for a graduate level course for effective online learning. I am licensed in Early Childhood and Elementary Education through 6th grade as a general education teacher. I am certified to teach/tutor Math, Science, Social Studies and ELA for K-6.
