Bio
My teaching philosophy is that a positive learning environment will lead to the most successful learning. I aim for my classroom to be energetic, upbeat, and fun! I work to make sure learners feel safe and comfortable in the classroom.
Teacher Specialization
I have over 15 years of experience working with students from preschool through 12th grades, in both physical and virtual classrooms. I am a licensed school librarian and teacher in the state of Virginia. I have a Master's degree in Elementary Education and a second Master's degree in Children's Literature and Literacies. I specialize in literacy and literature courses for students of all grades. As a former kindergarten teacher, I am experienced in teaching phonics and early literacy skills. I have also taught literature based courses to high school students, along with research and writing classes for elementary, middle, and high school. I have over 8 years experience teaching virtual literacy courses for elementary, middle, and high school students.
