Bio
My name is Valerie Blazer. I am from NC but currently live in South Texas. I am married and I have four amazing daughters ranging in age from 12-23. I am also a cat lover and have 3 purr-fect cat babies. My teaching philosophy is that every child can learn, and it is my job to figure out how they learn best and teach accordingly. In tutoring, I determine the needs of the child and then spend some time getting to know them. I like to make learning fun! So we spend most of the time learning and exploring through fun games and activities - all that target the skills being taught. I am kind, caring, loving, and compassionate and these attributes help my students feel loved, cared for, and therefore more apt to learn! My goals for our tutoring sessions are to determine what your child already knows and decide where they need to be. Then, we will get there with fun activities.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught for 17 years! I have taught all grades from pre-k -12th grade. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in special education. I am also NBCT in special education. I have taught in person for most of my career, but love working for Stride K12 and teaching students virtually.
