Bio

My name is Webster Barnes, a passionate world traveler who enjoys using Spanish in Spanish-speaking countries, particularly on mission trips where I communicate with native speakers and serve as a bridge between English and Spanish communities. I believe that all students are capable of learning and that each student acquires knowledge in their own unique way. I also believe that meaningful feedback is essential, as it helps students understand both their strengths and the areas in which they can grow. As your tutor, my goal is to provide fresh, engaging approaches to learning—whether that means supporting you with material you have found challenging or helping you advance your current level of understanding. Through my years of teaching, I have learned the importance of building positive, trusting relationships with students. I have come to understand that students are more likely to succeed when they are supported by an educator who genuinely cares about their growth and success.

Teacher Specialization

I have been a High School Spanish Teacher for just over five years and a Middle School Teacher for 5 months. I completed my student-teaching experience at the fifth-grade level during COVID-19, where I helped manage a hybrid and virtual model. I possess a B.A. in Elementary Education with a Major in Spanish. I also have my Secondary Certification in Spanish. Therefore, I am certified to teach K-8 self-contained and K-12 Spanish.
