Hello, my name is Wendy. I am a certified math and exceptional education teacher. I can tutor all subjects, but I specialize in math and exceptional education. Educational Philosophy- Education should be student-centered, focusing on the needs and interests of the learner. Learning should be hands on emphasizing solving real world problems. The teacher's role is to be a facilitator. Tutoring Goals- boost comprehension, utilize interactive teaching methods, encourage critical thinking, implement differentiated instruction, and foster student independence. Building Relationships with Students- Build a rapport with each student by finding out what their hobbies are. Also know what they like and dislike and by actively listening to their needs and concerns. Years in education - over 12 years teaching math and 3 years teaching exceptional education. Certified math teacher (5-9) and certified exceptional education teacher (k-12).
