Bio
My name is Ms. Horton, and I am excited to be a part of your student's educational journey! Students learn best in an environment that they feel safe to express their ideas. Students should be guided and given meaningful feedback in a timely manner. My goal for students in tutoring is to end sessions feeling proud of themselves and accomplished. This can come from mastering a lesson or skill to being able to move forward a step with understanding. I hope to build a positive and meaningful relationship with each student so they feel comfortable learning with me.
Teacher Specialization
I have a lot of different teaching experiences! I have now taugh 10 years for K12. After I graduated, I taught all grades from K-8th in South Korea. After that, I taught for 2 years in Texas as a Lead Interventionist, 3 years in Tennessee as a 2nd grade teacher, and then 1 year in North Carolina as a Reading Interventionist. I was trained in the Wilson Reading System as well as Read 180.
