Hey Friends! I live on a small mini farm here in Ohio. My philosophy on education is that "Children do not care what you know, until they know that you care".
Teacher Specialization
I have worked in Public Education for 22 years, 12 as an Educator. I started my career as a Paraprofessional. I earned my Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Education Grades (P-3). I earned my master's degree as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist (P-3). I have a Reading Endorsement in Reading (PreK-12). All of my degrees have been attained at The University of Rio Grande. I have taught Preschool Intervention, Third Grade Reading/ELA, 1st grade Math, and 2nd grade Reading/ELA, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Character Development. I believe in engaging lessons, using multisensory learning style. Students learn best when they receive small group or one on one explicit instruction in a caring environm I have been trained in Orton Gillingham Methods, Jan Richardsons Balanced Literacy, LETRS, along with many other shorter general professional developments. Reading and Writing are my favorite subjects to teach and I enjoy my students and am invested in their growth.
