Bio
Hi! My name is Ms. Hammond, and I’m a former elementary educator with several years of experience teaching math and science to elementary students. I recently earned my MA in Social Statistics along with a certification in Business Analytics, strengthening my ability to support students through data-informed, personalized learning strategies. Although I’ve stepped away from the traditional classroom, my passion for helping students grow academically and confidently remains strong. I enjoy working with learners to build foundational skills, strengthen problem-solving abilities, and develop the confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s unique learning style. I believe every student can thrive with the right support, structure, and encouragement—and I’m excited to continue making a positive impact through one-on-one tutoring.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in helping young learners build strong foundational math skills while growing their confidence and love for learning. I have 7 years of experience as an elementary math & science classroom teacher, 2 years as support staff, and one year as a tutor both virtually & in-person. My tutoring focuses on key areas such as number sense, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, problem-solving, measurement, geometry and early math reasoning. I blend clear instruction with proven learning strategies to help students truly understand math — not just memorize it. I also support students in developing strong reading comprehension skills—especially as they relate to understanding science concepts, vocabulary, and informational texts. Populations- General Education, Students with exceptionalities (learning & language disabilities to gifted), Title 1 schools BS in Elementary Education and MA in Social Statistics.
