Bio
Hello, my name is Christy. I am excited to support you in reaching your learning goals! I believe students learn best when content is relatable and lessons are interactive and engaging. It is important for me to get to know my students well to create individualized lessons that are based on their personal learning style and interests. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, go on walks with my dogs and cozy up with them to read a good book. I love learning new things and have recently began learning how to play the acoustic guitar. I look forward to meeting you!
Teacher Specialization
I have my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies and completed my Multiple Subject Credential with UMASS Global. I have 2 years experience as a General Education teacher, where I gained experience teaching foundational reading, writing and math skills. In addition, I have worked as a first through fifth grade Reading Intervention teacher using the Orton-Gillingham approach to support students with their phonemic awareness, phonics and comprehension skills. Before becoming a teacher, I was an elementary school Instructional Assistant. In each role, I have learned many instructional strategies to support all learners.
