Bio
I believe every student can learn, but not everyone learns the same way. With patience and persistence, we can get where we need to go together. As a classroom teacher, I often felt frustrated when students needed one-on-one help and I simply didn’t have the time. That’s why I find tutoring so rewarding. It allows me to give each student the focused support they need to reach their goals. My approach goes beyond isolated skills. I help students see how concepts fit together, using real-world examples to build confidence and prepare for college, careers, and life. I’m known for my calm, patient presence and my belief that kids thrive when they feel safe, respected, and challenged. I’ve been in education for 26 years. I started by helping students transition to college, spending over a decade working at top-tier colleges. Later, I felt the pull to work with younger learners. After 11 years in the classroom, I now find the greatest satisfaction in helping students one-on-one.
Teacher Specialization
I bring 26 years of experience in education, including 15 years in higher education and 11 years in K–12 classrooms. I’ve taught self-contained primary classrooms and served as a 3rd and 4th grade math specialist in an academy-style setting. My secondary teaching experience includes middle school math, high school Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2, as well as 12th grade English. I specialize in grades 3–8 math, foundational skill recovery, reading support, and elementary science with a focus on the scientific process. I hold California and Oregon teaching credentials with English Learner Authorizations, a BA in Philosophy and Literature, and an MBA.
