Bio
My name is Debbie Martin. I believe learning should be challenging and fun. My goal is for all students (regardless of age) to become and feel successful in their educational journey. I love to teach and learn new things. My husband and I love to travel with our two cats and a dog. We love to show them things that they learn about in school. We love to explore, hike, and kayak during our travels. I love to read, do crafts, and watch tv. I believe students learn best with positive encouragement and acknowledgement of even small successes. I feel you can't learn or progress without making mistakes. Students need to learn how to fix mistakes (a valuable life skill). As a tutor, it is important to determine how a students learns best, their likes and dislikes, and to make learning meaningful for them. My goal in tutoring is to instill a love of learning into students. I look forward to the opportunity to learning all about you and helping you to meet your goals.
Teacher Specialization
I have been an educator for over 35 years. I have a Masters of Education (curriculum and instruction) with a Math Minor. I am, also, a Certified Professional School Counselor. I have certifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language, all subject 1-8 classroom, and Math 1-8. I have taught adult education (GED) and Junior College.
