Bio

Hello! I'm so excited to be a Stride Tutor. I've been a public school teacher for 15 years in grades Kindergarten through 7th, and cannot wait to meet you and learn together! I began my teaching career in elementary teaching all subjects. Since moving to middle school, I've taught on grade level and accelerated math for 6th and 7th grades, plus most recently targeted math intervention for students with special needs and students who benefit from consistent one on one and small group instruction to build their math foundational skills while boosting their grade level skills. My first priority is to build relationships, since everyone is better able to learn when they feel safe and comfortable. I also believe that all people (yes, including you!) are capable of understanding and ENJOYING math! I encourage my students to ask questions and take risks. There are many paths to solving math problems and my goal and yours is to find the one that works best for you. We will learn together!
