Bio
Hello! My name is Emily and I am overjoyed to get to work with you. My love for teaching has ranged from being in the classroom, coaching volleyball, teaching drama, and exploring the world as a life-long learner myself. As a professional educator, I bring structure, reliability, and a strong commitment to student success. Each session is thoughtfully planned, goal-oriented, and tailored to meet your child’s unique learning needs. I prioritize clear communication with families, consistent progress monitoring, and creating a positive, supportive learning environment. You can count on me to come prepared, stay organized, and approach your child’s education with the utmost professionalism and care.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi College and specialize in literacy intervention and reading support using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I also incorporate Singapore Mathematics, a world-renowned method that fosters deep mathematical understanding and strong problem-solving skills. With over five years of classroom and tutoring experience spanning Kindergarten through sixth grade, I bring both structure and creativity to my teaching. I love using well-thought-out plans and playful strategies to help students not only succeed, but also enjoy the learning process. My goal is to nurture each student’s sense of wonder, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong love of learning. Whether your child needs support to catch up or is eager to get ahead, I offer engaging, research-based instruction that builds both confidence and academic skills.
