Bio
My name is Jenny Kleffman. I love being outdoors in nature, and would live in a treehouse if I could! I chose to be a tutor because I know what it feels like to have a teacher INSPIRE a love for learning within me, and I want to unlock that same excitement for others. I believe students learn best when lessons are hands on and interactive. I like to use games, songs and projects to make their learning experiential. As we begin the learning process, I will model numerous strategies in order for the students to find one they like the best. We will work together as I provide the amount of scaffolding that each individual student needs until they achieve independent mastery. I will provide a positive, nurturing atmosphere so students can relax during the learning process when it feels difficult. I want to help them embrace mistakes as exciting opportunities to learn something new.
Teacher Specialization
I earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and my Masters degree in Teaching and Learning from The Ohio State University. At the beginning of my teaching career, I was a substitute teacher for two years and was able to work with students in grades K-8. For the past 16 years, I have had the unique privilege of being an online teacher with Stride and have taught all grades K-5.
