Bio
Hello! I'm Mrs. Gibbs and I am excited to work with you as you continue in your learning journey! I have been teaching for 8 years in the very same school that I attended as a child! How cool is that! I recently left the classroom to stay home with my baby boy. As much as I love being home with him I miss interacting with kids like you and helping them grow as a reader, writer and mathematician! I believe that every kid deserves a chance to learn in their own way! My philosophy of education is that you can't teach a child unless you truly know the child. As your tutor I promise to get to know you as an individual learner! Relationship based education is how I ran my classroom; we are a TEAM and together we will make learning fun!
Teacher Specialization
Seven of my eight years in the classroom were spent teaching third grade! As a third grade teacher I taught all core subjects, however my favorite was always writing! My final year in the classroom I was moved to fifth grade where I became the writing teacher! This opportunity allowed me to focus on my favorite subject and help students see how fun writing can be!
