Bio
LaToya is a former middle school math teacher and senior educational consultant. She specializes in helping students build strong foundations in math, reading, test preparation, and study skills. Her tutoring approach is personalized, encouraging, and results-driven. She meets students where they are and creates customized learning plans that build confidence, improve grades, and strengthen academic habits. Whether a student needs support catching up, getting ahead, or preparing for major exams, LaToya provides the structure, accountability, and motivation students need to succeed. LaToya is passionate about empowering students to believe in themselves and reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.
Teacher Specialization
LaToya is an experienced educator and academic coach with over 20 years in K–12 education, instructional leadership, and student support. She specializes in K–12 academic support with a strong focus on math intervention, reading comprehension, test preparation, and executive functioning skills. She works with students in elementary, middle, and high school who need support with foundational skills, grade-level mastery, or accelerated learning. LaToya earned a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education, a Master's Degree in Curriculum Instruction, and an Education Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership. Her areas of specialization include: • Math support (grades 3-young adult) • Homework support and academic coaching • Study skills and test preparation LaToya’s instruction is structured, supportive, and personalized to each student’s learning style, helping students gain clarity, consistency, and confidence in their academic journey.
