Bio

Hi there! Welcome to K12 Tutoring! My name is Leah Moore. As a mom of four children and an educator with over 16 years of teaching experience—including years of homeschooling—I bring both professional expertise and a deep personal understanding of how students learn best. I earned my undergraduate degree from Bethany College in West Virginia, where I was a varsity swimmer, and went on to complete my Master’s in Education at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. My passion lies in helping students develop a genuine love for learning, particularly in mathematics, by making concepts clear, approachable, and connected to the real world. With extensive experience working with neurodiverse students, I approach every learner with patience, empathy, and strategies tailored to their needs. I believe education should not only build academic skills, but also nurture confidence, curiosity, and joy—so students leave school equipped for both lifelong learning and a happy, fulfilling life.

Teacher Specialization

I have taught middle school mathematics in both virtual and in-person settings, bringing flexibility and adaptability to diverse learning environments. My experience includes teaching Algebra 1, where I have guided students through foundational and advanced concepts, helping them build problem-solving skills and confidence in their abilities. I have also served as a special education math teacher, designing and implementing differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of neurodiverse learners. In this role, I have worked closely with students, families, and support teams to create individualized learning plans, integrate accommodations, and foster a supportive, success-driven classroom culture. Across all roles, my goal has remained the same—to help every student understand and apply mathematical concepts, connect learning to the real world, and develop a positive relationship with math.
