Hello! My name is Lindsay West, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and a love for learning. My philosophy is that every student can succeed when supported with the right tools, encouragement, and guidance. I strive to make learning engaging, inclusive, and focused on growth, where challenges are seen as opportunities. My tutoring goals go beyond academics—I aim to foster curiosity, resilience, and independent thinking that benefit students in all areas of life. I prioritize building strong relationships by learning each student’s unique strengths, interests, and goals. Through personalized support and open communication, I create a trusting environment where students feel motivated to reach their full potential.

Teacher Specialization

I have a BS in Chemistry and am certified to teach 6-12 science, with experience across chemistry, physical science, biology, environmental science, forensics, and earth sciences. I have taught for 7 years in both traditional classrooms and online schools. I excel at designing engaging, standards-aligned curriculum and tailoring instruction for diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504s. Skilled in both in-person and virtual settings, I use data-driven instruction to identify needs, provide remediation, and extend learning for advanced students. My strengths include curriculum development, instructional content creation, and fostering academic growth through differentiated strategies. I am also experienced in mentoring, test coordination, and guiding students in credit recovery and academic planning, ensuring that each learner has the tools to succeed.
