Bio
Hello! My name is Lori Kirsch and I cannot wait to meet you! I enjoy reading, hiking, and creating engaging lessons that connect learning to real-life experiences. I chose to become a teacher/tutor because I am passionate about helping students grow in confidence and skills, and I find great joy in supporting their academic success and love of learning. I believe students learn best when lessons are engaging and tailored to their needs, so they feel successful and motivated. I give positive, clear feedback that helps students see their progress, build confidence, and keep growing as readers and learners. My commitment is to guide each child toward steady growth and academic excellence while encouraging a love of learning. I focus on building positive and meaningful relationships with my students, getting to know their strengths, interests, and needs so they feel valued and supported. I am excited to learn with you!
Teacher Specialization
With over 10 years as a Reading Specialist, I focus on reading intervention, literacy development, and language support for elementary and middle school students. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham and provide multi-sensory, structured instruction for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning challenges. As a former Language Arts Coordinator and Academic Support Specialist, I bring expertise in grammar, writing, and reading support, helping students build strong communication skills and confidence. With 14+ years of classroom teaching, a Master’s in Literacy Instruction, and experience tutoring online, I am dedicated to guiding students toward academic growth and success.
