Hello! My name is Mrs. Cruz! I have a baby boy and a black labrador both of whom I love very much and you will probably hear me reference them for examples a lot! I live near the beach, so when it's not too hot or too cold, I love to go to the beach and spend the entire day in the sun. I also enjoy sports. Baseball is my favorite, but I also love college football (Roll Tide)! And when I am able to find the time, you can find me in the dance studio learning new routines. I also grew up playing the piano and the clarinet, so I guess you could say I am pretty well-rounded in many things.

I am an educator of 13 years. I graduated from the University of Alabama with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Gifted Education. I have a passion for learning and believe that students should be the authors of their own learning. In my career, I have worked with children of all ages from Kindergarten to 8th grade, as well as in varying roles, such as classroom teacher, gifted teacher, tutor, and reading interventionist
