Bio

I believe all students are capable of learning and require a positive learning environment that promotes strong relations while ensuring that they are getting the most out of their learning. As such, my goal as a tutor, is to help each student grow and learn in the way that is best for them. This also means making learning into a fun and positive experience for each student. I love getting to know my students and what their interests are! As I get to know them, I strive to incorporate those interests in their learning to make it more impactful and meaningful to them. I am Miss Melton, and I enjoy reading, writing, listening to a variety of music and going on nature walks! I am an Auntie to now four nephews and a niece, whom I love to spend time with whenever I can! I am a newer 1st grade teacher and chose to become a tutor as well so I can help those who need a bit of a boost in their learning.

Teacher Specialization

I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Western Governor's University and graduated on February 28, 2023. Most of my experience since, has been in lower elementary grades, Kindergarten-2nd grade. I started my teaching journey subbing in a variety of grade-levels, in -person, until I was given the opportunity to join MGLVA as a floating teacher, helping out wherever I was needed and having now learned a lot from that time-frame. This last school year, I had the pleasure of joining the 1st grade team as a homeroom teacher with my own class and look forward to working with them again this coming school year. In the meantime, I look forward to how I can support you during this summer and am excited to see you grow and gain confidence in your learning and yourself.
