Bio

Hello, my name is Vanessa Insua, and I am an elementary school teacher. I am so excited to work with you in achieving your academic goals. I chose to become a tutor because I know that we all learn differently and being able to support students one-on-one or in a small group setting will better help them achieve their educational goals. I am here to set my students up for success and that begins with building a positive learning environment where my students are encouraged, challenged, and not afraid to participate. Learning should be fun! I use visuals, storytelling, educational games, and other strategies throughout our tutoring sessions. I truly enjoy teaching, but I also love crafting, reading and most of all spending time with my family. I have taught all subjects, from kindergarten-4th grade, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to be your tutor!

Teacher Specialization

I am a certified educator with 20 years of classroom experience. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a director’s credential certificate. I have taught Preschool students all the way through third grade. I have also worked as a director for a daycare and private school. I am bilingual—being fluent in both English and in Spanish. I have experience in working with ESOL students (English speakers of other languages) and have taught English to students of other languages.
