Bio

My name is Amanda, a special educator from Maryland! I love to connect with young learners and encourage a positive learning outlook. I'm a mom of two daughters, an avid reader, and a workout enthusiast. I enjoy working with students in a smaller setting and am excited to get to know you! I believe students learn best when they have fun and feel capable. Encouraging words go a long way to foster confidence and independence in learning. Finding the best ways to support individual learners is key to success! I want to be able to provide individualized support to increase your student's confidence and capabilities. I love to be able to chat with students about their likes and dislikes. It can be a great way to bond and include subject matter that interests them in teaching!

Teacher Specialization

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Family and Human Services and a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified in Early Childhood and Special Education and I have 7 years of teaching experience- one year in first grade and 6 years as a Special Educator. I have primarily worked with K-5 students on reading and math intervention. I also taught virtually for 1 year in 2020.
