Bio
Hello! My name is Amy Burnett. I live in Georgia with my husband Drew and our dog (JayZ). My son is beginning his freshman year at a college in Virginia and will be running on the XC and track team. We love traveling to watch him race. My teaching style combines patience, clear instruction, and interactive learning strategies to make learning engaging and understandable. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students build confidence, strengthen skills, and develop a love for learning. I believe in celebrating progress while helping students develop confidence and independence. Every child learns differently, so I take time to understand how each student learns best. I personalize lessons by incorporating the student’s interests, adjusting instruction to their skill level, and using strategies that match their learning style.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher for 23 years! I taught in a GA public school for 13 years, homeschooled our son while we lived abroad for 2.5 years and have tutored online for 8 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education as well as Master's and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I also have a TESOL certificate. I enjoy helping students build confidence and experience success. Watching a child grow, gain understanding, and feel proud of their accomplishments is the most rewarding part of teaching.
