Bio
Hello! I'm an seasoned educator with lots of experience from teaching kindergarten to adults. I hold a BA from UCLA, a Master's in Education Administration, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and am Nationally Board Certified in Literacy: English Language Arts Early and Middle Childhood. I've helped hundreds of students build confidence, master challenging concepts, and most importantly love school! I've also mentored teachers, led professional development, and presented at National Conferences. My push-in Reading Intervention Program was published through LAUSD. If you want your child to love learning, and have fun while they're doing it, I'm your tutor! My approach is warm, fun, personalized, supportive, and focused on student's strengths. I break down complex ideas and create a positive space where students feel motivated and successful. I'm committed to helping them succeed and love learning.
Teacher Specialization
With a National Board Certification in Literacy and English Language Arts, I am passionate about helping struggling readers and students discover their potential. I specialize in phonemic awareness, phonological development, fluency, speed, accuracy, comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, critical thinking, and communication skills in English Language Arts across all grade levels. I also provide personal support in elementary mathematics, study skills, and other subjects. My teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, fostering a love for learning, and helping every student experience success! I especially enjoy working with students who have struggled in the past by creating fun, engaging, and creative lessons tailored to their individual learning style. With 30 years of educational experience, I use flexibility, encouragement, and research-based instructional strategies to help students become successful, independent, and lifelong learners.
