Bio
Hello! My name is Carla and I am grateful that you are taking the time to research a tutor. I believe that students learn best when they understand the goal and have input in how they learn. Through tutoring, I will seek to understand the student's needs in the area mentioned, use resources to identify where the student has understanding, and then set a target objective. I have acquired an array of strategies to guide students to their "Aha" moments. Currently, I live in Northeast Texas, and I am a U.S. Army retired veteran's spouse. We enjoy traveling and spending time with family that includes 3 grandkids. I would appreciate the opportunity to help your student make connections in understanding and progress to the next step in their academic growth.
Teacher Specialization
I completed a B.A. degree at the University of Texas. I have a Texas Educator certificate for all subjects in grades 1-8 including English as a second language. I have taught Reading, English, Math, Social Studies and Science in grade levels K-6 both in the public school face to face setting and the online virtual setting. I received credentials from the Texas Reading Academy Science of teaching reading in 2021.
