Hello! My name is Hillary Slater and my teaching philosophy is that you can never stop learning and improving. Even for myself as an educator I believe that I can never stop learning how to be a better teacher. I believe students learn best when you can relate the material to their interests and incorporate play into learning. When you can do these things you help students begin to develop a love of learning. My goal as a tutor is to help my students reach their goals and improve in their critical thinking skills. Teaching is not just a work of educating but of also building good relationships. I want to build a connection with my students that let's them know that I am on their said and I want to see them succeed.

Teacher Specialization

I have been teaching in Spokane, Washington for the last three years in Spokane Public Schools and East Valley School district. I have a Bachelors degree in early childhood education and I have taught grade levels pre-school-sixth grade. I also have previous experience working online and teaching english to Chinese students.
