Bio
Hi! My name is Jessica Johnson and I am a 3rd grade teacher! I believe that all children can succeed when they're given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to explore. Learning should be joyful, hands-on, and meaningful. I strive to make connections between what we're learning and my students' real lives, so they can see why their education matters. I also believe in fostering a growth mindset—mistakes aren't failures, they're stepping stones to understanding. My goal as a tutor is to build confidence alongside skills. I want students to not only master the content but also to believe in themselves as learners. Whether we're working on reading fluency, multiplication facts, or problem-solving strategies, I focus on meeting each student exactly where they are and celebrating every bit of progress along the way. I take time to get to know each student as an individual—their interests, and strengths. I create a safe and encouraging space for students.
Teacher Specialization
I have been working in education for over 7 years, serving students in both general education and special education settings. I have experience delivering instruction in both traditional classroom and virtual learning environments, adapting my teaching strategies to meet students' needs across different platforms. I have primarily taught 3rd grade, covering all core subjects including Reading/English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. My experience spans both general education classrooms and special education resource settings, allowing me to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
