Welcome! Every child deserves to feel confident when they read, and I'm passionate about helping students unlock their full potential. Some students just need a different approach to reading, that's where my Special Education background makes the difference. I am a certified K through 12th grade Special Education and Reading teacher. I help students strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, and written responses while building confidence and independence as learners. Let's work together to turn reading and writing challenges into confidence and academic success!
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in elementary and middle school reading instruction, including comprehension, vocabulary development, fluency, and writing support. For high school students, I support academic literacy by helping students analyze complex texts, strengthen comprehension, and develop written responses using textual evidence. My virtual teaching specialization focuses on delivering engaging, interactive online lessons that build reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking skills. I have taught middle school Reading and ELA as well as 9th and 10th grade literature courses. I have experience teaching in both Special Education and General Education classrooms and ensuring instruction aligns with students’ IEP goals. I bring 23 years of teaching experience and hold Special Education certifications in Arizona, Florida, and Georgia. I earned my Bachelor’s in Special Education and Master’s in Reading from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
