Bio
As a tutor, I believe students thrive when learning feels personal, accessible, and encouraging. I differentiate instruction to meet each learner where they are and provide constructive, timely feedback that empowers them to improve with confidence. I work to ensure students not only improve academically but also build problem-solving skills, creativity, and a growth mindset. My goal is to support each learner in reaching their full potential with clarity, encouragement, and high expectations. I believe strong relationships help students learn, so I work to connect with them in a kind and honest way. By creating an inclusive and welcoming space, I help students feel confident and supported as they learn. I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, traveling, and learning new things. I’ve been lucky to explore many places around the world and meet wonderful people. At home, I’m supported by my three college-aged children, a bulldog, a very lazy cat, and a wonderful husband
Teacher Specialization
With more than 30 years of experience working with students through age 13, I am dedicated to helping young learners build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout my career, I have taught English as a Second Language in virtual settings and have spent the past six years teaching in a fully online school. In addition to classroom instruction, I have provided individualized tutoring to help students overcome challenges, strengthen their understanding, and reach their academic goals. My teaching approach is student-centered, encouraging, and designed to foster both academic achievement and a lifelong love of learning.
