Bio
I am a dedicated Social Science educator with a B.A. in History from California State University San Marcos, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and earned Dean’s List recognition. Before entering education, I spent more than 20 years in technology sales, working with leading companies and organizations—an experience that helps me bring real-world connections, communication skills, and professionalism into my teaching. I have taught both U.S. History and World History at the high school level and have experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs and abilities. My teaching philosophy is built around making history relevant, understandable, and engaging by connecting the past to events, ideas, and challenges students recognize today. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, are challenged to think critically, and receive clear guidance and encouragement along the way. My teaching personality is friendly, patient, and enthusiastic.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is high school Social Science, particularly U.S. History and World History. I have taught both subjects in the classroom, developing lessons, leading discussions, assessing student learning, and supporting students with a variety of academic needs, including English learners and students with IEPs. I enjoy helping students move beyond memorizing names and dates to understand why historical events happened, how they are connected, and why they remain relevant today. I also help students strengthen research, writing, reading comprehension, study, and test-preparation skills. I am highly comfortable with technology and online learning tools, drawing on both my teaching experience and more than 20 years in the technology industry. As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable, and my goal is to build each student's understanding, critical-thinking skills, and confidence.
