Bio
I am an experienced educator with more than 20 years of teaching in public schools and Christian schools. I earned my Master of Education in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum from the University of Missouri and am passionate about creating engaging, student-centered classrooms where every child is challenged, supported, and encouraged to succeed. My teaching philosophy is built on high expectations, meaningful relationships, differentiated instruction, and helping students develop confidence alongside academic excellence. Throughout my career, I have taught Pre-K through fifth grade, STEAM, intervention, and special education in both traditional and virtual learning environments. I hold certifications in Elementary Education, Gifted and Talented, Special Education, Language Arts, Reading by Design, and the Texas Reading Academy. I was honored to be nominated by my colleagues for Teacher of the Year, a recognition that reflects my commitment to collaboration and servant leadership.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is creating engaging, differentiated learning experiences that meet the needs of diverse learners while fostering academic growth and confidence. Throughout my 20+ year career, I have taught Pre-K through fifth grade, STEAM, intervention, special education, gifted students, and language arts in public, private, and Christian school settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I successfully transitioned to online instruction, designing and delivering engaging virtual lessons, facilitating small-group instruction, maintaining strong communication with families, and using technology to ensure students remained connected and academically successful. I also provided virtual tutoring and individualized support to help students strengthen foundational skills and close learning gaps. Whether teaching in person or online, I am committed to building meaningful relationships, creating inclusive learning environments, and helping every student reach their full potential.
