Greetings! I am Mark, and I've spent over a decade working in education, including many years teaching middle school mathematics. I enjoy helping students discover that math is a subject they can understand, apply, and even enjoy. Success in math isn't about getting every problem right the first time, it's about understanding the process and improving with each attempt. I create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and celebrating progress along the way. Before tutoring, I also coached student-athletes, reinforcing my belief that growth comes through consistency, effort, and confidence. Whether we're building foundational skills, preparing for a test, or tackling a challenging concept, my goal is to help students strengthen both their understanding and their confidence in math.
Teacher Specialization
I have over a decade of experience in education with a background in teaching middle school mathematics. I hold a Mathematics certification for grades 5–12 and have worked with students across a wide range of ability levels, from those needing additional support to students seeking greater academic challenge. My teaching focuses on conceptual understanding rather than memorizing procedures. I believe students learn best when they understand why a method works, allowing them to apply those skills to new situations with confidence. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to meet individual learning styles and goals. Whether we're strengthening foundational math skills, preparing for assessments, or building confidence, I strive to make every lesson engaging, supportive, and focused on long-term success.
