Bio
My name is Mrs. Rahman. I currently teach elementary and middle school ELL where I support students in building their reading, writing, and overall English language fluency. I enjoy working with elementary-aged learners and am grateful for the opportunity to help them grow. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a safe, student-centered environment where language learning is meaningful and culturally responsive. I believe in using engaging, scaffolded instruction that combines explicit language skills with authentic reading and writing experiences. I prioritize building students’ confidence, honoring their backgrounds, and fostering independence so they can use English to participate fully in school and community life.
Teacher Specialization
I have seven years of teaching experience and specialize in working with students who are learning English as a new or second language. I hold an ELL teaching license and began my career in New York before relocating to Michigan two years ago. I have taught grades K-8. Currently I am an Elementary and middle school ELL teacher at a virtual academy school. I have been teaching virtually for 2 years. Specialization: TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
