Bio
Hello! I'm Olivia, a teacher with 9 years experience in classroom and interventionist roles. My teaching philosophy is that every child can learn and grow when they feel supported, encouraged, and challenged appropriately. I believe learning should build confidence, curiosity, and independence. My goal is to help students understand what they're learning so they can apply those skills with confidence both in and out of the classroom. My teaching personality is best described as firm but fair. I set high expectations while creating a patient, positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I believe consistency, encouragement, and clear communication help students do their best work.
Teacher Specialization
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas and I'm currently pursuing a Master in Data Science and Informatics from Texas Woman's University. I have eight years of elementary teaching experience, including three years as a 2nd grade teacher, one year teaching 4th grade ELAR, two years as a 6th grade Reading Mastery teacher, and two years as an ESL interventionist supporting 2nd and 6th grade students. My experience has allowed me to work with students across a wide range of skill levels, learning styles, and academic needs.
