Bio
Hello! My name is Rena Baggett and I am a certified teacher. I recently left the classroom due to health reasons and have missed it immensely. I am eager for this opportunity to tutor students through this online platform. My goal for tutoring is to get the students feeling a bit more confident in their subject area of choice and the knowledge of support. I truly believe being a teacher is learning from the students as much as they learn from me! Each student has their own personality, unique abilities, interests, and way they learn and I encourage them to learn using all of those things. I guide my tutoring/teachings by the students. I pride myself in having a great repour with my students and their families. It is very important to me that we build the bridge between school and family so the students know we are working for the same commonality: their success! I make sure the family knows exactly what is happening with the student whether it be all positives or some negatives.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for the last nine years in my own classroom and I spent a year interning so ten total years of teaching experience. I have been the lead teacher of our school's second grade teaching team for multiple years in a row, sat on multiple textbook adoption committees, attended standards based trainings, and planned/executed lessons for my students. I recently taught third grade, all subjects, and administered state testing with always a 50% or above pass rate. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education so I feel that is where my strengths lie. I am K-12 reading endorsed and ESOL endorsed. My favorite content area to teach is reading/ELA.
