Bio
I believe that students learn best when given opportunities to connect with the materials they are learning. Giving immediate, encouraging feedback makes a difference in students' self-esteem and willingness to learn. It is my goal to help students enjoy learning and find their educational passions. Student growth is not defined just by their academic successes (although important!), but also their hard work and self-motivation. Students learn best when they feel supported by their teachers, tutors, and other adults in their lives. Creating a positive environment with verbal encouragement, positive reinforcement, and connecting will help students be more engaged and more open to learning. I am a mother to three young children with three dogs as well. I enjoy reading, baking, and crochet.
Teacher Specialization
I have over 12 years of experience teaching various ages in different environments. I have taught the youngest learners in infant and toddler classrooms. The bulk of my experience was as a Montessori elementary teacher for 7 years. I have also tutored in several online environments for elementary aged students. My credentials include a Master's degree in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum, a Bachelor's in Psychology, and Montessori certification for 0-3 year olds and 6-9 year olds. I also have training in the Science of Reading.
