Bio
Hello everyone, My name is Breanna, and I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to be able to work with you all in strengthening your writing abilities. I have an extensive background that has allowed me to develop the tools to teach students how to improve their skills in subjects such as creative writing, essay building, and analyzing literature. In my spare time I knit, read, and draw. I try to spread a love of creativity to my students as I feel it improves our critical thinking skills, being able to problem-solve. I have been enveloped in the world of English since the start of my education and can't wait to connect with more learners to spread this love of reading and analyzing.
Teacher Specialization
I teach college-level, English and Media Studies, classes to ninth and tenth graders. In these courses I help strengthen the rhetoric and composition of my students work by diving into their syntax and diction. Once students are confident in their writing voice, starting the essay writing process becomes much easier. I am currently finishing up my first year of teaching after having obtained my Bachelor's in English last year. I studied at the University of Florida, where I specialized in analytical writing, working with various topics from philosophy to studies in colonialism. Being consistently given rich texts of concepts that were previously foreign forced me to become incredibly well-equipped in breaking down difficult texts into bite-sized portions. Breaking texts down in this light allows students to more easily identify key details, themes, and text structures. I have been tutoring online for a few months and can't wait to reach out to more learners.
