Bio
I am excited about the opportunity to support your learning. I want to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. My goal is to guide you to reach your full potential as an academic student. My learning sessions are individualized. I encourage questions, creativity and critical thinking. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to get to know and understand a student. Building on a trusting relationship is invaluable. When I am not teaching, I am traveling, running, having outdoor athletic adventures, doing yoga, playing the harpsichord or spending time with my son.
Teacher Specialization
Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a Pediatric Nurse. I have enjoyed teaching for the past 10 years. I have been teaching virtually for the past 7 years. My degrees include a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Psychology, a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology, a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Nursing, and a Master's Degree in TESL education. I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the state of California. I received some of my training in Florida. I am also certified to teach yoga. Courses that I have taught include the following: Middle School: Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, 6th Grade History and English, 5th and 6th Grade Math. High School: Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Oceanography, Forensic Science, Psychology, Sociology, Global Studies, Geography.
