Bio
Hi there, I’m Miss Hillari! I am a passionate early childhood educator who believes young learners thrive in structured, engaging, and nurturing environments where they feel confident and supported. I use research-based strategies and differentiated instruction to meet each child’s individual learning needs while providing meaningful feedback that encourages growth and progress. My goal is to build strong foundational academic skills while fostering curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning. I prioritize creating positive relationships with students so they feel valued, motivated, and safe to take risks as they grow academically and emotionally.
Teacher Specialization
I have over 16 years of experience teaching kindergarten and first grade in both the United States and internationally in England (US curriculum), including three years as a virtual kindergarten teacher with Volunteer State Virtual Academy. I specialize in early literacy development, phonics instruction, reading comprehension, early writing skills, and foundational math concepts such as number sense. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in PreK–3 Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master’s degree in Children’s Literature from Hollins University. Through structured routines, hands-on learning, and targeted academic support, I help young learners build strong foundations and make meaningful, measurable progress.
