Bio
Hi! My name is Kaley. I live in Upstate NY on beautiful Lake George, which is on my family's cabin rental property. I’m a dedicated and patient tutor who loves helping students build confidence and a love for learning. Lessons and activities are catered towards students interests and strengths to build confidence in their own education. I tailor lessons to students needs and strengths to help improve and support in areas that need attention. I use my own interests like soccer, board games, books, and movies along with what the students interests are to make lessons fun. My goal is to aid with homework, test preparation, and for students to feel more comfortable and capable in their studies. Students are taught to learn independently by overcoming academic challenges and incorporate educational tools that can be used to learn independently with successful outcomes. I create a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome and progress is celebrated.
Teacher Specialization
My specialization is Childhood Education for grades 1-6 with a concentration in English Language Arts. I have over 10 years experience in teaching through many different positions while working with many different demographics. My experiences include teaching English to Kindergarten students in Denizli, Turkey; working with ESL students at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School in Albany, NY; teaching 8th-grade English in Ticonderoga, NY; as well as many one-on-one tutoring opportunities. One of the biggest experiences was being able to teach online to my eighth grade students during COVID-19 which provided opportunities to gain knowledge of tools and resources that support online learning like videos, documents, interactive whiteboards and table talk group discussions that can all be done virtually.
