Bio

Hi, my name is Karla Cannon. I have taught everything from pre-school to college students and really have no favorite age group. I love learning and embrace both the challenges and the rewards of working with all age groups! One thing I'm proud of is that I was asked by my district Assistant Superintendent to attend Reading Recovery training. That is an early intervention reading program that has an outstanding success rate. I was able to work in this program for three years. I am a lifelong learner who loves to read, loves to make music on a keyboard, and loves animals!!

Teacher Specialization

I have taught online for 18 years. I have taught several years at the college level online plus have tutored K-12 online as well for about 8 years. I've also taught on campus-both college and in public/private K-12 school districts. In the K-12 area, my role was Title I Reading/Math teacher as well as serving as a Learning Specialist supporting classroom teachers as needed. I have a Master's Degree in Literacy Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. My specialization is Reading along with English-Language Arts and I have used those specializations to provide tiered instruction for struggling learners and Special Education students. I looked forward to working with K-12 students and assisting with academic needs!
